MediaCorders do not require to be burned, no special apps, it is native windows compatible can even use the new windows exFAT format!
As we are all familiar, all optical media cannot be formatted and used like a regular hard disk. You must have a separate application to what we call in the industry "Burning", which is simply writing to the DVD. Such as Nero or Roxio. Requiring you to do many unnecessary steps to get the Data onto the optical media, not to mention keeping a copy of everything until you burn it. DVD's cannot be used as the active drive in any application for reading and writing because of it.
This also means that programs that any programs that do not have built in burning software, cannot directly write to the optical media. Everything is a 3 step copy, burn and delete operation.
With a Mediacorder, just point your application at the particular drive and leave it just like you do with a hard disk. With a Mediacorder, simply insert a cartridge, and a drive appears. To use, just copy files to it, or just point your application to it and do your work. No burning, no copies of your files to keep until you burn. No muss, no fuss. Put in a cartridge do your business, pop it out. Sort all your various work based on different cartridges. Re-use them anytime. MediaCoarders also format normally (and do it in seconds), copy to it normally, search edit and delete just like a hard disk!! When your done, just eject the cartridge. Think of it as one big 200Gig flash disk. Isn't this the way it should be?
