Yes. When you insert a factory fresh cartridge, it will show up as a drive, but windows will tell you it's not formatted yet. (just like any new drive). Mediacorder is extremely easy. No need to go into drive manager and partition anything. Jjust right-click on the drive and click "Format". MediaCorder performs the equivalent of a "Quick format" and takes only a couple of seconds. There is no need for a long format, as it is impossible to have bad sectors on a MediaCorder, thus no sectors to remap.
